So, as of the Middle of July of this year, Tommy’s Time Shop turns one year old.
A lot has been learned about this wonderful industry. A lot of great networking as well. Meeting great people, companies, suppliers and more.
Over 500 orders on Whatnot, Dozens of Orders on various other platforms and a few in-person transactions to fill the bill.
In this year, we established so much. Formalized everything in January of this year and got an office a month later.
While the previous year didn’t bring in tons of revenue, matter in fact, the month of June had surpassed what we had made all of last year. Amazing as heck. What last year brought in was a lot of learning, crash courses and acceleration which has brought us to this point.
EMPHASIS ON ENERGIES
The focus of the brand, is to make Tommy’s Time Shop one heck of a great place to order or buy Vintage and New watches.
Currently, our business is almost exclusively online, with a large share going to Whatnot Marketplace. Our focus for the remainder of summer and fall quarter is to bring more online sales opportunities to tommystimeshop.com ideally, becoming the largest share of all channels.
Another core focus is to also expand brick and mortar operations, which will involve hiring a sales team and eventually an on-premises watchmaker. I will cover this more on the 2026 relocation.
RAID TRAINS
one of the most successful assemblages of great sellers in the watch community on whatnot has been the raid trains. I have ran various raid trains with different scenarios, schedules and more. Despite some slight vocal opposition the majority of buyers and sellers even think this has had a positive impact on the community. We agree and will continue as long as it’s feasible to business operations.
Working on the next raid train, which will be on August 23rd. The following raid train will be halloween themed and scheduled for October 24th, our first Friday raid train.
2026 RELOCATION
With the aggressive push to make Tommy’s Time Shop a larger operation in the near future, with bringing on Timex and eventually some other large brands to our inventory, we are looking at retail storefronts which will help enhance the buyer experience and give more exposure.
We will not renew our lease at 511 Dover, as the space, is becoming too cramped. Additionally, the space is not public facing, nor retail friendly. Our landlord is an awesome person and we would recommend you to him if you need a small space to springboard your startup or idea. We will make the official move by January 2026.
We are not bound by the South Jersey region in terms of where our shop will ‘land.’ As some of you are aware, we almost signed a lease in DuBois, Pennsylvania, which would have brought us to having a larger facing public operation. Yes, we haven’t taken that option off of our playbook.
VENDOR NETWORKS
Tommy’s Time Shop has been blessed by some of the best vendors that a business in our industry can have. From suppliers of vintage timepieces, to suppliers of logistics and shipping services, new vendors such as Timex, we rely greatly on these awesome sources to keep the business going.
We are always looking to find more Vendors in the network. Local, Far Away, Another Part of the World, If we can make it work, then let’s do it.
For our vintage Division, we are looking at the following points of expansion:
Outreach to Storage Unit/Auction Resale companies
Outreach to Cleanout Companies
Outreach to Liquidation Companies/Pallet Sellers
For our New Division, we are looking at the following points of expansion:
Outreach to Major Brand Distribution Companies (Citizen, Timex, Swatch, LMVH, etc)
Outreach to Microbrand Watch Companies
For our operations and logistics crew
Outreach to logistics solutions
Outreach to agencies for streamlining processes
I AM SO EXCITED AND SHOULD YOU BE?
Of course you should be! Wait, just wait!
