Ok, so yes, I haven’t posted here in a long time. What an apology I have to whip up for everyone now.
Well, let me tell you what has been going on in the background…
With a few decent months on whatnot, a couple of raid trains and slowly spooling up this three headed beast that Tommy’s Time Shop has become, I have decided that I have no more room at 511 Dover and just signed a lease to move to 75 Lacey Road in nearby Whiting, NJ.
Wasn’t an easy decision to make. I needed more room, I needed more 3d printers and it seems like every part of the business has their lovely way of expanding and taking up space.
Tommy, What is this Three Headed Beast that you are talking about?
It has been a while, eh?
Yes, as you know, to this point, we sold Vintage to new watches and 3d printing items, ranging from Mr Bench Press clones to 3d watch holders and jewelry mandrels. It has been wildly popular.
However, the third one in this throuple of amazingness is TTS Atelier, the watch strap division that seems to take a lot of weight recently.
And with each division of the business, each one takes a significant amount of room, sanity (or lack thereof) and money.
And now, finally after testing straps on whatnot, finally are now available on this website and will be adding more as we go.
June 1st will be the official restart for the shop at 75 Lacey Road, Suite 6, Whiting NJ 08759
WHAT’S UP WITH WHATNOT? YOU’RE LEAVING?
After some thoughts, prayers and more thoughts, I decided that Tommy’s Time Shop needed to strengthen into a more traditional retail strategy for growth. Being on a social live selling platform such as Whatnot took away a lot of resources in inventory, time and mental investment which could have been applied here and done correctly, improve business.
That being said, I am not degrading whatnot in any way, shape or form. It is a great place to meet likeminded individuals in your hobby of choice, great for resellers who sell at speed and volume. I felt that our brand, the goals and values of the company and standing out as an individual business were no longer apropos for neither whatnot or TTS.
And also may I add, that although we are leaving a social live selling platform, I do not plan to lock myself in this office and become antisocial and end up like Howard Hughes. The shop WILL be open to the public, welcoming walk in customers, not just on Monday, but EVERY day that we are open. I will also hold events for watch fanatics, workshops, product launches and more. I also plan to attend a few NAWCC regionals, the philly watch fair, which Chris puts together a great show every year and the Wind up watch fair in October in NYC. Maybe even check out an occasional JAOS show in manhattan.
